Exercise of the Week: Plank Pushes

Crraaaazy Saturday.
Woke up early and got my boot camp on. Today the girls busted it out and I got to bust it right along side them. Sometimes I get to work out with them, and other times I feel like I can push them harder if I'm watching their every move.
Today we incorporated one of my FAVORITE exercises... Plate Pushes. I found this video to give you an example of what these are like. They are AWESOME for your quads.
I make them more of a core workout by doing plank plate sides on the way down and then pushing the plate with a run on the way back. With the plank plate slides start crouched down with your hands on the plate in front of you. Slide the plate out slowly until your hips are down and your are in a plank. Jump both your feet in so your toes meet the plank. Slide the plate out again into a plank and jump the feet in. I love these...they are seriously awesome.
Post boot camp I got a little more cardio in, and then rushed home to shower, watch some general conference, and whip up some zucchini cookies to give to my fave bloggy friends!! We met up at Yogurtland for some yummy frozen yogurt and lots of laughs. It was so much fun! There are so many awesome, driven, motivated, fabulous girlies around these parts. I wish you all could have been there with us! I will have to steal a pic from one of them when they post one! I forgot my camera :)

This past week has been rough for me...my fam was in town which means lots of eating out, less time working out, more time spent with them...you know how it goes. I absolutely love hanging out with my fam, so I am more than happy to trade some sweat time for family time, but it can leave me feeling out of whack.

Side note...some of you have asked about my fam because I'm always going to AZ to visit, but I talk about them being here all the time too. My parents home is in AZ, but my dad actually works out of UT, so they have a condo here too. He is back and forth all the time, which is why I get to jump in the car and visit the sunny state of AZ all the time. Awesome huh?

 This is my fab sis nichole and I in AZ. She lives there too. Her B-day was this past week. Happy B-day Nichy! LOVE YOU!!

Back on track. SO... This week has made me feel off track, which means I'm using today to remind myself to get back on track.

My goals for next week are: 
- at least 100 grams of protein per day
- more water! Aim: 80-100 oz per day
- no random snacking. This is the hardest part for me. I have told you I have snacking tendencies. Even though my snacks are good snacks...it's still can lead to too many calories.
- log my food. This is my secret to success. I lost my groove this week.
- Workout like a pro. Although I worked out every day this past week it wasn't my best performance. I'm ready to step it up a notch.

eeeeeek! today was the BEST saturday. it was so awesome to see everyone and meet new friends as well. thank you SO much for the cookies...already LOVE them. I LOVED seeing you. You are super gorgeous and fabulous!

Goals for the week...back to my eating routine...3 meals and 2 snacks. no more blaming random snacking on being in a bad mood because I cant run...because I can now...ha. Also...really want to work on staying positive and rebuilding confidence when I run...even if it is a short run :)

I love the goals you set for yourself! It's so easy to get down on yourself for snacking, lack of exercise etc- but redirecting that energy into a plan makes anything attainable!

My Saturday was pretty quiet but it really was just perfect that way. I got a lot accomplished, and by a lot I mean plenty of catching up on my tvs and eating my favorite foods :)

My goal for this week is water, water, water. I drink very little water which I know is bad. I'm hoping drinking more water will lead to eating less food, which will lead to weight loss :) wish me luck!
