Fall Favorites Mix Giveaway

Oh my goodness. Today is the last day of September and I'm squeezing in a September mix giveaway right at the end of the wire. First of all...I can't believe that tomorrow is October 1st. Second of all...I can't believe I haven't shared some of these songs yet. I made it through a whole run on Friday! I was able to go in the middle of the day, and I only had minor pain issues...so I may be on the mend. I'm still keeping my runs short, full of hills and intervals, and high tempo...but I'm so happy to be able to run again! This was the playlist I ran to, and I LOVED it.

DAY # 23: 23 Plank Rocks 

Get into plank position on your elbows. Rock your body weight forward onto your elbows as far as you can go and then back onto your toes. This counts as one rep. Do this 23 times! This is core work at its finest!

You Ought to Know...Rock My Run

I love my workout music. Y'all know this by now. I thought I'd start December off with sharing one of my new favorite things.

If you haven't visited Rockmyrun.com you need to get there. Now. It is pure awesome. It is a site that has pre-made mixes of awesome workout music. There are so many fun mixes, you could probably find something new to run to every day. All you have to do is register, and you are good to go. The best part...it's FREE.

Free things + music + running = AWESOME 

Now, another tip for you.
You know when you are running with your iPod to a mix you put together, and all of the sudden a song comes on that drags your energy levels down about two hundred percent. You're left wondering what in the world you were thinking when you threw that batch of tunes together? WELL...you can choose music by the number of beats per minute. This means you can get a whole mix that is the same tempo, and you can make it match your speed. It reaaally doesn't get much better than that. Your brain can perceive the beat of your music as a heart beat, which explains why a really up-tempo, high energy song can get your blood flowing and give you an awesome boost of energy.

So how do you do this? Well click HERE to figure out how to convert your MPH (miles per hour) to BPM (beats per minute). Once you determine this you can find the perfect mix for your run, download it for FREE, and it will open up into your iTunes. Upload that bad boy onto your ipod, and you're pretty much good to go.
