Change Your Scenery

Something that I've always been aware of, but was just reminded of this week was how important it is to mix up your exercise routine to keep you motivated. I am spending the week in Newport Beach, California with my family, and I've been running outside here. It's like running has suddenly become so much more enjoyable. I was thinking about it as I ran, and I realize that I am definitely one to get stuck running the same path over and over, mostly because I know its exact distance, and how long it will take me. But, I have really enjoyed being able to just go and run and explore new place. I know we can't all run by the boardwalk, but find a new path in your neighborhood, go up the canyon, go for a hike, go for a swim, etc. You get the idea. Finding a new place will help keep your attention and will ensure adventure!

Hey Megan,
I'm Lindsey's friend Heather from highschool(don't know if you remember me) and I found your blog from hers and LOVE it! You have such good ideas and things I have actually used! I loved your workout songs you posted awhile ago and wondered if you had any news songs to add to my playlist. I am running the Provo Canyon half marathon in 3 weeks and am getting really sick of my songs and am always on the lookout for some new tunes. Your help would be much appreciated! Keep up the good work on the blog! Thanks-

This is SO true for me! I loved living in Provo and running up the canyon. I'm going to have to do some searching and find some new routes around here!

You HAVE to run along the beach! My mom and I did that every morning, and it was about 9 miles from the Villa and back.

It was so fun to run with you here in Newport. I will be lonely without you!

Megan, I agree with you. Running in Newport seemed to take less effort. I'm sure that is because of arizona's heat right now. I hate running outside right now!
