Oh helllloooo Decemeber.

We woke up to this scene this morning.
Yes, you are seeing this correctly, our main source of light in our condo is covered by a GIANT tree. Yes, the branches do scrape the window at night making it sound like you are in the movie Scream the second the wind picks up. Oh, and yes, the tree is directly over the spot where I park my car, and our resident bird population has made a fun game out of...who can aim and hit the car with bird poop the most times in one day. Oh...but yeah, I love that tree...
SB took this photo from our living room window. It's a sweet photo. I just wish it was a fabrication. Yesterday when I drove home from work the temp reader in my car said 72 degrees. 72! And then this? Snow? Blehhh. I'm ready for flip flops, shorts, driving with the windows down, lying by the pool, and running in perfect temperatures. Is that too much to ask? Ups and downs like this can't be good for our mental health. Just give us warm weather already...for good. But, yeah I love the snow. (Lies)

I did snag a photo from one of the other bloggers of our blogger frozen yogurt meet up at Yogurtland yesterday. I can't remember who I stole it from...but thank you to whoever you are.
L to R in the back we have Ruth, Rachelle, Katie, Ashley, Janae, Julia, Stefanie, Micah
and us awkward squatters in the front...Holley, Moi, and Rochelle.
Aren't these girls beautiful? I know. Their blogs are all fantastic and super inspiring if you're looking for some good reads.
Beautiful girls who are rock star athletes, and the nicest people EVER. Yes, they do exist.

Talking to all of them made me miss running a lot. I haven't been able to run very consistently since I tore the tendons in my ankle/foot last October and although I've definitely made great friends with the spin bike/elliptical/stair climber, stepping off a 60 min session on the elliptical just doesn't give me the same mental satisfaction as thinking dang...I just did an 18 miler. It's weird how that all works out. My ankle is doing a LOT better. Now I'm just trying to work on fixing residual injuries that manifested themselves after the fact. The main problem lies mostly with my hip joint and piriformis. The piriformis is located in the back of the hip joint and passes through the pelvis, so when it gets inflamed...like it's been doing...it KILLS. I'm going to really try and focus on getting it alllll better, so I'll be back to my same old running self again. I don't like feeling like a 90 year old grandma that limps. (Not that I have anything against limping grandmas, bless their hearts.)

I am super excited about my goals for the upcoming week, and getting back in gear. Sometimes, you just need a bit of a not-so-great week to revamp yourself mentally and get back in it.

Sunday afternoon sweet tooth anyone?
try these...
All healthy. All delicious. All tasty. Of course.  Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, and get ready for a new AWESOME week!

Are you receiving crazy town weather as well? Or are you going to make me jealous and tell me it's 85 degrees and sunny where you're at? If you do you are risking my showing up on your doorstep in my swimsuit. Just saying. Which workouts satisfy you the most mentally? I would say running, the stairs, & DEFINITELY circuits. They kill me. I love them.

definitely agree that a tough run and my newfound love as a result of not being able to run...circuit training leave me feeling sufficiently awesome afterward...these definitely make me feel like I have gotten the BEST workout in.

I LOVED seeing you yesterday...as if I have not said that a bazillion trillion times :) So hope all of these little nagging injuries get better soon! Have a fabulous week!!

When they showed a live shot of temple grounds during conference today, I thought it must have been pre-recorded because there was so much snow. Talk about crazy weather!!
I feel you with not being able to run; I have had knee problems off and on for a year now, and now I am having lower back problems because of that I think. It is tough!! I hope you continue to heal and that those residual injuries go away for you!

Okay, I am seriously jealous of all you Utah bloggers! And definitely sick of the snow. NJ got snow on April 1st...so unusual...

I know what you mean about needing a not-so-great day/weekend/week to get you back on track! I have had a VERY unfocused, hot mess weekend regarding my eats. I am more than ready to put it behind me and focus on the week ahead and beyond!

It takes that gross feeling that you get after over-consuming/eating crappy foods to make you realize how awesome eating healthily is, no? :)

Love that picture of the snow, though. It looks pretty :-)
...even if it sucks!

I had the kids at the park yesterday in shorts and tank tops and it hailed on us :D

Yes, it's crazytown weather here too. Thursday and Friday it was in the 90s (!!!) and yesterday and today it was cold and overcast. WTH?? Mother nature is messing with us for sure!!

Looks like a fun meetup. I know the pain about injuries, they are no fun. I am just counting down the days until I can get out of this cast and do something again. Don't even care if it's running...just something!

Hope you had a great weekend!

It has been sunny and in the 80's for the past few days and I'm sporting a little bit of a tan as proof. We may have thunderstorms tonight but it's going to hit 90 this week. Feel free to join me in my leisurely lounging by the pool any time.
Most mentally satisfying is my extreme pilates class. I walk out every time thinking ,"This class never gets any easier". Then I know I'm working my tail off.

I also fee great after a long run (which is only 8 or 9 miles for me).

Those COOKIES!!! They look so great.

It was 78 here yesterday and it snowed like crazy today...so great haha :-)

I would say running for sure, and then after that a killer weight workout.

No good about your injury! Seriously... a huge fear. I have dealt with IT band issues before, but luckily I stopped myself before it got crazy. It is so hard to be patient though!

oooh I love circuit training and running... utah weather STINKS!! I'm SO ready for summer.

I hope your injury gets better asap so you can get back to running :)

Gahhh! That reminds me I wanted to make the frozen banana soft serve and I forgot to buy bananas.

It was sleeting/thunderstorming at 30 degrees. I can join in your misery.

A good peaceful long run makes me feel the best. My long runs aren't crazy long, I'm talking 8-12 miles. Enough to feel accomplished but not dead ;)

Mother nature sure was cruel this weekend!
I feel really bad that I missed out on the blogger get together and your treats!
Sorry about your piraformis. I've had that issue in the past and it sure isn't fun. I'm sure you already know the stretches but sitting on a heating pad and then doing them is what really helped me! Good luck and at least you still have a lot of other things to do to keep you active!

Super crazy weather here too! One day it's cold, next day 70 and tornados. What gives??

You'll get back to your old self. I wish everything healed as quickly as scabs do :)

I'm totally jealous of your froyo meet up ): Beautiful ladies; awesome picture!!!

We had tornado force winds and t-storms last night!! 250,000+ people lost power! (including us- not cool!) Today is cold but high 70s the rest of the week! Boo, mother nature does not like earth right now!!

I want to eat all your food all the time and I wish I lived in your kitchen(;
